Purpose of the Fast
Fasting is a spiritual commitment between you and God.
It is an act of honor, worship, and consecration, not a weight-loss plan.
The focus is to seek God more deeply and hear His voice.
Type of Fast
Daniel Fast
Inspired by Daniel 1:12 – “Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink.”
You may consume vegetables, fruits, and water only.
Avoid processed foods, meats, sweets, and bread.
Supporting Scriptures
Matthew 6:16-18 – "When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do... your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."
Isaiah 58:6 – “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice…?”
Joel 2:12 – “Even now, declares the Lord, return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.”
James 4:8 – “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”
Regular Fast Guidelines
Aim for 8 hours of fasting daily (minimal water intake during that time).
You may choose a time frame that works for you, but consistency is encouraged.
Ultimately, the details are between you and God.
